Today we are going to jump right in and talk about buying links and whether or not it will help your search engine ranking or just hurt it!
First of all, what are paid backlinks?
We know for a fact that if you have a lot of backlinks it will help your site get ranked highly with the search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc).
And that a backlink is just a link from another website or web page to your website or your page. The reason that the search engines use this as a measuring tool is because they “feel” that if your site is worth being linked to by another site, then your site must be worthwhile.
There is a lot more that could be said about that but again, in a nutshell, it all comes down to this: the more websites that you have linking to your website, and the better quality the links, the higher you will rank in the search engines. (Please remember link building is just one part of SEO, there are other factors that the search engines consider when ranking websites).
But building links yourself is a tedious, long and continuous process. So, not too long ago, people were very comfortable with paying a service to provide them with a backlink. But it didn’t take Google too long to figure out that this was happening and paid linking services started being penalised.
Certain paid backlink services, sure enough were providing you with backlinks to your sites, but they were links on others sites which were either absolutely not relevant at all to your site, or, the site they were posted on had absolutely no activity what so ever, meaning very low quality. Google especially, picks up on this and WILL penalise your site. If your site gets penalised then there are certain procedures you need to follow to get Googles trust back. If they penalise your site, you will notice a drop in website traffic and rankings. Buying links is not a good way to go, they are not genuine links, they are links for the sole purpose of building links to achieve higher rankings, and that is not ethical and Google will know that. Ethical link building is a timely process of ensuring your website link is placed in the right place and natural.
An example of low quality backlink services would be Fiverr. You can get a lot of gigs on Fiverr promoting lots of backlinks, these do tend to be low quality even if they say otherwise. Another example would be automated backlink software, software that automatically creates backlinks for you. These I have had experience of and will create you hundreds of backlinks, but at low quality and on sites that are not relevant to you. The general saying is, “you get what you pay for”, you can pay cheaply for a lot of backlinks, but, I would never advise that, tread very carefully, buying backlinks can do more damage than good.
While paid backlinks may not be the way to go, there are a number of incoming link services that you can choose to use rather than just outright buying backlinks. These services will actually do the link-building work for you rather than just selling you the links. Different services offer different features so just make sure that you do the proper amount of research to establish those that are really working the right way and keeping one step ahead of the search engine rules and regulations.
While backlink services will not be cheap, they offer a great alternative to you spending an enormous amount of time trying to learn about backlink-building and then applying it to your business. Choosing the right service allows you to let the experts handle that aspect so that you can go on to other business building activities. There are several link-building services to choose from and the list will probably continue to grow as long as it is common knowledge that backlinks are necessary for high search engine ranking.
I can put together a link building campaign for you, we will tailor it to suit your needs. I can offer anything from just backlinks or a full SEO service, which will ensure that your website is optimised also. I have been working on a clients site, optimising it and building links to it since January 10th. As of the date of this post, just 3 months these are the results.
As you can see ranked Number 1 on Bing and Yahoo for our keyword “Kitchen Fitting in Peterborough” (we have been there for a while now) and we are first page on Google too, position 5 and 6 . I cannot promise you the same results obviously, as it very much depends upon how your site is setup and what keywords you are optimised for, there are varying factors that play a role in how well you rank in the search engines, but you can see what I do works!
